Batman: Arkham Origins Announced!

Holy haberdashery, Batman! It’s a new Arkham game!
Warner Bros. Games Montreal has revealed that they are working on the next title in the Batman: Arkham series, Origins. WB Montreal has full access to Rocksteady’s custom modified Unreal engine to capture the look and feel of the previous Arkham games. Origins will take place long before the events of the previous Arkham games, following a young and inexperienced Bruce Wayne as he first encounters many familiar supervillains for the first time.

As you can see from the cover of Gameinformer’s May issue (shown above) the assassin Deathstroke will be one such foe.
But that’s not all. Alongside the console game Warner Bros. has also announced a handheld title, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate. The game, which will be released on PS Vita and 3DS, is set after the events of Arkham Origins and is being developed by Armature Studio, the company that was founded by several of the brains behind the Metroid Prime trilogy. With this in mind, it’s not too surprising to find it described as a “2.5-D Metroid-style exploration action game”.
So when can you get your hands on this gem? Batman: Arkham Origins releases October 25, 2013 on Wii U, Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
The handheld game Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate is scheduled to be released on October 25 as well for PS Vita and 3DS.
