Le château de Neu-Falkenstein se situe dans le canton de Soleure en Suisse. Le château d’origine avait été grandement endommagé par un tremblement de Terre en 1356 après des travaux de reconstruction qui furent important on rebaptisa ce château tout beau tout neuf « Neu-Falkenstein » Le premier propriétaire de cette seigneurie attesté par des documenst du deuxième quart du XIIIème siècle est Rodolphe de Falkenstein fils de Rodolphe de Bechburg. En 1417 La ville de Soleure en devint propriétaire et y fit installer un baillage. En 1798 la vague révolutionnaire qui avait agité la France des années auparavant s’abat sur la région et le château de Neu-Falkenstein est brûlé par des gens de Balsthal. Il ne sera jamais reconstruit, en témoigne ces belles ruines toujours debout aujourd’hui.

Neu-Falkenstein Castle is located in the canton of Solothurn in Switzerland. The original castle had been greatly damaged by an earthquake in 1356 after extensive reconstruction work, this beautiful, brand new castle was renamed "Neu-Falkenstein" The first owner of this lordship attested by documents from the second quarter from the 13th century is Rudolph Von Falkenstein, son of Rudolph von Bechburg. In 1417 the city of Solothurn became the owner and had a bailiwick installed there. In 1798 the revolutionary wave that had agitated France years before fell on the region and the castle of Neu-Falkenstein is burnt down by people from Balsthal. It will never be rebuilt, evidenced by these beautiful ruins still standing today.
