Paws thundered heavily through the undergrowth, shredding up the grass as they carried the fleeing wolf through the trees. Orion glanced over his shoulder at the perusing wyverns chasing after him. Their leathery wings beat through the air, gliding them closer. He could feel their eyes watching his every movement as he weaved through the trees.

The brown and galaxy furred wolf gasped for air, his fear created a lump in his throat. Loud screeches echoed in his ears as more wyverns joined in the chase. He couldn’t understand their speech but only one word stuck out: kill. He knew these creatures liked to kill for sport and if he didn’t move quickly enough, his scarlet blood would decorate their sharp talons.

The trees in front of him parted and he could see the open sky. The sun was just beginning to set, casting its orange glow across the horizon. Orion passed the last tree and the grass turned to rock. He skidded to a stop, his paws kicked small pebbles over the side of the cliff Orion found himself cornered on. He looked down below. The ground was much too far away from him to survive a jump.

Orion’s heart pounded in his chest as he turned away from the cliff, facing the wyverns the blocked his escape. Orion sucked in a deep breath of air, trying to calm his nerves and his racing heart. He was trapped between the wyverns and falling off the cliff to his death.

The world was cold and Orion knew it. Kill or be killed. Eat or be eaten. Survive or die. It was the unspoken law of the world he lived in. The ex-Prince sighed, wishing he was back home in his castle before he was chased away by another Prince who so easily ripped his kingdom from his paws.

A wyvern cry pulled him from his thoughts and he watched them, staring into their mocking eyes. They thought they had him with nowhere else to run.

I’m not going to die here. Orion thought, his posture now radiating with confidence. The sky behind him was growing darker. The orange glow allowed the dark blue of the night sky to take its place and the first stars of the night were beginning to show themselves. Orion could feel them fueling his power.

He was always stronger at night. The blueish-purple galaxy fur on his shoulders, head and tail began to glow brightly. Stars decorated his fur, shining nearly as brightly as the stars in the sky. Orion raised his paw, drawing out a small star constellation in the rock with his claw. He placed his paw onto it and bright white circle appeared around it.

Orion smirked and his eyes glowed white, stars finding their way into them. His magic circle glowed brightly underneath his paw. “Zodiac Star Constellation, Capricorn! Rise!”

^^; Oops. I was really getting a little carried away with the story xD I'll write up an official background story for him at some point.

OOOH MY GOODNESS. This piece took SO LONG! Sooo many hours of work went into it but I am very proud of it for sure! Ahh! I'm in love. I reached out of my comfort zone tried a little perspective and a painted background. Totally happy with the outcome!! Stupid rock and the magic circle gave me so much trouble.

Totally wasn't watching Naruto when I named this X'D
