My name is Tracy Stembridge and I discovered Bible Journaling about 3 years ago. It has helped me learn to sit still and meditate on God’s Word. I love the artistic component to illustrating scriptures and have learned new techniques and how to use different types of media. Even so, it is what happens, “Behind-the-scenes” that has changed me. He has revealed many deep concepts while I was doing an illustration. I hope to share some of the life lessons I have learned during this season of my life.

Inspiration for this illustration: Isaiah 43:19 -Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.

Behind the Scenes:
At the time I did this illustration, I was in a low place. I had not read my Bible in a while and was feeling uninspired, depressed and just going through the motions of life. During this time, I stumbled upon Bible Journaling, by accident, on Pinterest. I was mesmerized because I am a visual person. I started small, with stickers and stick figures, because I was scared I would mess up a page in my Bible. I have since learned that God is glad when I spend time with Him and He gives me grace when I make mistakes.

Inspiration for this illustration came from God doing 2 new things in my life. He introduced doing art in my Bible and inspired me to learn Spanish through Scripture. Little did I know then, that I would end up starting two Bible Journaling Facebook groups (one in Spanish) and make a few trips to Mexico to teach others how to Bible Journal. All this has been possible, because God made a new way for me to spend time with Him....... and I said "yes."
Life lesson: God is Faithful and will meet you where you are. He just needs a willing participant.
